Career Management Center hosts 3rd annual Freeman Energy Expo

Students from the Freeman School’s New Orleans campus traveled to Houston on Friday (Sept. 9) for a day of information sessions, seminars and one-on-one networking with professionals in the energy field.
The occasion was the Freeman Energy Expo, an annual event organized by the Freeman School’s Career Management Center (CMC) that gives students pursuing careers in energy the opportunity to connect with recruiters, alumni and employees who support hiring initiatives within their organizations. This year’s expo was sponsored by Phillips 66 and featured a keynote presentation from Jane Gasdaska, general manager, US Product Supply & Distribution, for Phillips 66 Commercial, who kicked off the program with advice for students, including how to manage teams, how to work with people who think differently than you and how to prepare for success — and failure.
“It’s always incredible to see, year after year, the number of companies in energy that reach out to us to attend the expo and have a strong desire to speak with our students,” said event coordinator Susan Mickey, the Career Management Center’s energy programs employer and student outreach manager.
The day continued with company information sessions, a networking session and a seminar on Case Interviewing sponsored by Freeman recruiting partner Accenture. The day concluded with an alumni/student reception that gave students the chance to meet Freeman School alumni working in energy in Houston.
Next year's Freeman Energy Expo is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15, 2017. If you or your company are interested in participating, please contact Susan Mickey at 504-247-1739 or smickey@tulane.edu for more information.
