Matt Gelb (MBA '26)

Matt Gelb is a finance professional with a strong background in real estate, financial analysis and loan compliance. He began investing at age 12, and his passion for the markets led him to major in real estate at the College of Charleston, where he earned recognition as a top student. Matt gained valuable experience as a Financial Analyst at Computershare, managing multi-million dollar projects, building complex financial models and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. He also interned as an Acquisition Analyst, evaluating real estate investments and contributing to portfolio growth. Eager to pursue a career in asset management, private equity or investment banking, Matt continues to sharpen his investment skills by managing his own stock portfolio.
What's a fun fact about you?
I've managed my own investment portfolio since I was 12.
Why are you pursuing an MBA?
To advance my career, make myself more marketable to employers, and to go into private equity or investment banking.
What attracted you to Freeman?
The business school's renowned reputation and the opportunity to participate in the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund and Burkenroad Reports.
Where do you hope to be in five years?
Working as an associate at a private equity firm.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Work out, play golf and play chess.
