Muhammad Shafiul Munir (MBA ’25)

Name: Muhammad Shafiul Munir
Hometown: Chittagong, Bangladesh
Program: MBA
Concentration and Specialization: Business Analytics and Finance
Post Graduation Plans: I will be joining Dell Technologies as a Senior Advisor, Project Management in Round Rock, Texas in July 2025.
Favorite Business Course: Managerial Finance with William Reese helped me understand basic financial aspects in a very comprehensive and practical way. It was essential for an engineering background person like me with little to no business knowledge.
Economics for Managers with Rafed Al Huq imparted crucial market and economic understanding specific to the US economy, which was very essential for an international student like me.
Favorite Business Professor: William Reese. I have taken two courses with him: Managerial Finance and Investments. Coming from an operations and manufacturing background, I wanted to enhance my business acumen and understand commercial sides of the business more. Professor Reese’s courses singlehandedly fulfilled my finance knowledge requirements in most aspects with a very diligent, steadfast yet dynamic approach. His classes were full of resources, learnings and fun.
Academic, extracurricular or personal achievement you're most proud of: I'm most proud of leading a consulting project with Intralox Belt Solutions, where we developed a recycling model for plastic conveyor belts in Europe. Our work proposed practical, sustainable solutions involving PreZero and other partners, helping Intralox align with circular economy goals and strengthen its European environmental strategy.
Most important thing you learned at Freeman: At Freeman School of Business, I gained three key insights. First, the power of networking—it’s not just valuable, it’s transformative in shaping careers. Second, studying with peers from 12+ nationalities and varied backgrounds taught me how diversity drives collective growth through shared strengths and support. Lastly, the MBA sharpened my commercial acumen, helping me shift focus from minor details to the bigger picture—understanding what truly moves a business forward and making decisions with clarity and purpose.
Favorite New Orleans Memory: Evening walks along the Mississippi and through the French Quarter, enjoying live music and coffee with my wife, tasting local seafood, and exploring art exhibitions like Van Gogh are unforgettable New Orleans experiences.
