WDSU: Gas prices face uncertainty after US strikes on Iran

Eric Smith, professor of practice in finance and associate director of the Tulane Energy Institute, was interviewed by WDSU-TV for a story about the impact of U.S. strikes in Iran on gas prices.
“We don't import much from the Middle East, but China does, so you've got this bizarre situation where China is going to restrain, I think, the Iranians from trying to close the Strait [of Hormuz]. In the short term, what's likely to happen is you would see disruptions in supply, because the oil would have to get here and we don't have enough tankers.”
