DW News: Can the Fed stay independent under Trump?
Peter Ricchiuti, senior professor of practice and research director of Burkenroad Reports, appeared on DW News' The Dip Podcast to discuss the U.S. Justice Department's investigation of Fed Chair Jerome Powell and what that means for Fed independence.
“The thing is, businesses can't make big commitments going forward other than all that's going on with AI. We visit companies all the time here at Tulane. You ask them what's their three or five year plan, and they look at you as if you had two heads. I mean, you wake up in the morning, and the rules have changed. This is a tough way [to do business]. No matter how smart a CEO you are, you're pulling the reins in, and you can't be blamed.”
