WGNO-TV: Louisiana could soon enrich and dispose of nuclear fuel

Eric Smith, professor of practice and associate director of the Tulane Energy Institute, was interviewed by WGNO-TV about the U.S. Department of Energy's selection of Louisiana as potential host for a nuclear lifecycle innovation campus, which would support activities across the full nuclear fuel lifecycle, from fabrication and enrichment to disposing used fuel.

“We’re an industrial state. So, we’re not scared off by having things like refineries, and petrochemical plants,” says Eric Smith, associate director of the Tulane Energy Institute. “Maybe we should be a little bit, but we’re used to it.”
