Freeman climbs to No. 39 in U.S. News undergraduate business ranking
The Freeman School's Bachelor of Science in Management program climbed two spots to No. 39 in the latest U.S. News & World Report ranking of undergraduate business programs. The ranking was published Sept. 22 as part of the U.S. News Best Colleges special report.
U.S. News bases the ranking on peer assessment surveys of deans and senior faculty at accredited U.S. business schools. More than 400 deans and senior faculty submitted surveys this year, rating schools they were familiar with on a scale of one (marginal) to five (outstanding). With an average reputation score of 3.5, Freeman tied with 10 other schools in this year's ranking.
This latest recognition continues a strong upward trend for the program. In March 2026, Poets&Quants ranked Freeman No. 30 in the U.S. in its Best Undergraduate Business Schools ranking — a five-spot jump from the prior year. Taken together, the two rankings underscore continued momentum for the Bachelor of Science in Management program.
"We're pleased to see this ranking, and we know it reflects real, substantive improvements the Freeman School has implemented in the areas of curriculum, experiential learning and career readiness," said Myke Yest, associate dean of undergraduate education. "Our team has worked deliberately to strengthen the undergraduate experience, and it's rewarding to see that work recognized."
Over the past several years, Freeman has invested in expanding hands-on learning opportunities, refining its core curriculum to better reflect the demands of a rapidly changing business landscape, and deepening partnerships that connect students to career-readiness resources and employers. These improvements span the student journey — from first-year coursework through capstone experiential projects such as Freeman's signature Burkenroad Reports program.
The undergraduate recognition adds to a series of recent ranking improvements for Freeman, which also posted gains this year for its full-time MBA, Executive MBA, Professional MBA and Master of Finance programs.
