Freeman hosts 14th annual Finance Case Competition

MBA students from Freeman and seven other top-ranked business schools competed for $10,000 in cash prizes at the 14th annual Rolanette and Berdon Lawrence Finance Case Competition.

This year's competition, which took place on March 19 in Goldring/Woldenberg Hall II, featured teams from Tulane, Emory, Rice, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of South Carolina, University of Texas at Austin, Washington University and Vanderbilt.

Record attendance highlights Freeman Days New Orleans

This year’s Freeman Days New Orleans recruiting and networking event broke records for both corporate participation and alumni involvement.

More than 60 alumni attended this year's Freeman Days New Orleans Networking Reception.

Freeman Days kicked off on Thursday, March 11, with the annual alumni networking reception. More than 150 people attended this year’s event, which gives students the opportunity to mix and mingle with both alumni and corporate recruiters. That number included more than 60 alumni, an all-time high for the reception.

Freeman mourns the death of Douglas Schantz

Douglas N. Schantz, president of Sequent Energy Management, died tragically in New Orleans on March 5 after apparently falling accidentally into the Mississippi River.

Schantz, who served on the board of the Tulane Energy Institute, had been in New Orleans to present a gift of $25,000 to the institute as well as award two scholarships to Freeman students seeking careers in the energy industry.

Executive MBA program ranked among top 25 in U.S.

The Freeman School jumped seven spots in the latest Financial Times ranking of executive MBA programs. Freeman's EMBA program is now ranked 64th in the world and 22nd among U.S. programs.

Saying goodbye to the Katrina Class

The 2009 commencement ceremonies marked an historic end and a bright beginning for 769 newly minted alumni of the A. B. Freeman School of Business.

New alumni group hopes to improve ranking

A new alumni group hopes to improve the Freeman School's national ranking by reaching out to recent graduates.

The Freeman 50 is the brainchild of Edward Crawford (MBA '08, MGM '09), who says he was inspired to start the group after seeing the success that other schools had had with initiatives such as class agent programs.

TABA Baseball Tent Party Friday, May 8

The 2nd annual TABA Baseball Blowout will take place Friday night, May 8, at Turchin Stadium.

The Tulane Green Wave baseball team takes on UAB at 6 p.m. in an important Conference USA contest, so to help fans get ready for the big game, TABA is sponsoring a pre-game Tent Party featuring food, refreshments and fun for friends and alumni of the Freeman School. GradeUs, a mobile marketing firm founded by Freeman alums Greg Woolverton (BSM '85, MBA '89) and Rob Mouton (BSM '85, MBA/JD '89), recently completed a text-based mobile marketing program at 10 Sonic stores in southwestern Louisiana.

Henry St. Paul became one of the oldest graduates to earn a Freeman School MBA when he graduated in 2008.

Reiss and Houston honored as Entrepreneurs of the Year

The Freeman School has named two distinguished businessmen with close ties to New Orleans as this year's Tulane Entrepreneurs of the Year.

James J. Reiss Jr., a private investor and manager of Reiss Companies, was honored as the 2008 Tulane Most Distinguished Entrepreneur, and Allan Houston, former NBA player and founder of the Allan Houston Foundation, was honored as the 2008 Tulane Social Entrepreneur of the Year.
