Freeman Announces New Offerings for All Tulane Undergraduates
The Freeman School of Business is pleased to announce three new academic offerings designed for students from across Tulane University. Beginning this fall, students from the schools of Liberal Arts, Science & Engineering, Social Work and Architecture will have the opportunity to pursue a minor in general business, a certificate in Hospitality Management & Entrepreneurship, and one of three accelerated 4+1 master’s degree programs.
Created in response to growing student interest in business education, these new programs provide pathways for students to integrate essential business knowledge and skills into their academic programs regardless of their primary field of study and reflect the Freeman School’s commitment to making business education accessible to students across the university. As business skills become increasingly essential across all industries and professions, these offerings provide non-business students with valuable opportunities to enhance their academic experience and career preparation.
Freeman Business Minor
The Freeman Business Minor is a comprehensive six-course, 16.5-credit-hour curriculum that combines foundational courses in accounting, business computing and statistical analysis with electives spanning the full spectrum of business disciplines, including marketing, management, analytics and finance.
Students completing the minor will develop fundamental business knowledge applicable to virtually any industry or profession, enhancing their career prospects and providing valuable skills for entrepreneurial ventures or corporate leadership roles.
Students can opt for one of two paths within the minor. One path will provide a flexible selection of electives to allow students to lean into those courses that will best complement their primary area of study outside Freeman. The other path will lead students through a curated set of classes that will give them the foundation needed to take full advantage of one of Freeman’s 4+1 Accelerated Master’s Programs.
Hospitality Management & Entrepreneurship Certificate
The Hospitality Management & Entrepreneurship Certificate program provides students with specialized industry knowledge and practical skills focused on the intersection of hospitality, management and entrepreneurship. Through the completion of four targeted courses with a strong emphasis on experiential learning, students will develop the expertise to design, build and lead successful ventures centered on delivering extraordinary customer experiences.
This certificate is particularly valuable for students interested in New Orleans’ thriving hospitality sector or those seeking to launch innovative service-based businesses.
4+1 Accelerated Master’s Programs
Freeman’s 4+1 Accelerated Master’s Programs enable students from Liberal Arts, Science & Engineering, Social Work or Architecture to earn a master’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics & AI, or Energy Management with just one additional year of study beyond their undergraduate degree.
By beginning graduate-level coursework during their junior and senior years, students can achieve significant savings in both time and tuition while positioning themselves for more advanced career opportunities than would be possible with an undergraduate degree alone.
These accelerated programs are designed for high-achieving students who wish to combine their disciplinary expertise with advanced business knowledge, creating unique professional profiles highly valued in today’s competitive job market.
