Statement from Dean Ira Solomon regarding international students

Astrolab

Dear Freeman Community:

On Friday, the 10 deans of Tulane University issued a joint statement in response to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) announcement limiting international student attendance at U.S. universities this fall. We are strongly opposed to this new policy, which is in direct contrast to the mission of Tulane University and the Freeman School. Our international students bring enormous value to Tulane and advance innovation and creativity in our country. Restricting international access to our educational programs harms all students and diminishes our vibrant community.

The Freeman School stands together with our international students. We are committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities to all students, while maintaining the health and welfare of our entire community.

Ira Solomon, Dean
