What are your post-graduation plans?
After graduating from Tulane, I will begin a Master’s in Management at Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. Following that, I plan to pursue a career in investment banking, focusing on M&A and strategic advisory, with the long-term goal of expanding access to financial education.
What are your top Freeman extracurricular activities?
During my time at Freeman, I was actively involved in the International Student Advisory Board as Co-Chair of the Campus Support Committee, where I worked to support international students’ transition to Tulane. I also participated in the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund, served as a Research Assistant at the Schwartz Center, and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and the Tulane Global Ambassador program.
What community or volunteer activities did you participate in outside of the business school?
Outside of Freeman, I volunteered as a math tutor at KIPP Central City Academy, working with fifth-grade students from underserved communities. I was also involved in the Tulane Chinese Student & Scholar Association and the North America Mandarin Debate Association, where I contributed to community-building and cross-cultural engagement.
What academic, extracurricular, or personal achievement are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my experience tutoring at KIPP. It challenged me to adapt my teaching style, connect with students from different backgrounds, and make learning more accessible. Seeing students grow more confident in their abilities reinforced my belief in the power of education to create opportunity.
What was your favorite business course?
My favorite course was the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund. It gave me the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world investing, analyze companies in depth, and collaborate with a team to make portfolio decisions. The hands-on experience strengthened both my technical skills and my interest in equity research and investment decision-making.
Who is your favorite business professor and why?
My favorite professor is Dr. Lu. Her teaching style made complex marketing concepts both analytical and intuitive, and working with her as a research assistant helped me develop a more structured and critical way of thinking.
What’s your favorite memory of Freeman?
One of my favorite memories is working late with teammates on group projects, where we exchanged ideas, challenged each other, and turned concepts into real strategies. Those moments were both intellectually rewarding and personally meaningful.
What are the top items on your professional bucket list?
I hope to work on a high-impact M&A deal, become a trusted advisor to clients, and eventually build a platform that promotes financial literacy. I also want to mentor students who are interested in pursuing careers in finance.
What’s a fun fact about yourself?
I can speak the Wenzhou dialect, a regional Chinese dialect often considered one of the most complex, even for native Mandarin speakers. I enjoy using language as a way to connect with people from different backgrounds.
