The Career Management Center sponsored this year’s Freeman Days. The centerpiece of this annual event is a reception that brings students together with employers and alumni in a casual setting to practice networking and learn about different industries and professions. Freeman Days is open to all Freeman undergraduates and graduate students.

In addition to the networking reception, students could sign up for more in-depth sessions. Prior to the reception, there were industry-specific panels on finance and energy addressing the future of recruitment and what employers want in hiring. The following day, several companies returned to conduct one-on-one interviews for specific positions or to have coffee chats with interested students.

Just two days later, the Marshall Family Commons was abuzz for the Founders’ Forum, which brought entrepreneurs from dozens of startups to meet with students from the Entrepreneurial Management course. The Founders’ Forum followed a speed networking format, where students met with entrepreneurs for 15 minutes before rotating to another startup. Students preselected three companies that best matched their interests.

Next month, the Entrepreneurial Management students will have another chance to network at the Supporters’ Forum, where investors, entrepreneur support organizations, economic development organizations and professional service providers will be available for speed networking.

Many thanks to the company representatives and entrepreneurs for sharing their knowledge with our students!
