Favorite Business Professor: Professor Myke Yest is my favorite business professor because his kindness and genuine nature permeate all that he does. Professor Yest is uniquely capable of distilling complex information into digestible lessons. He puts course content into greater context, tying data and calculations to tangible examples and results. Professor Yest’s care for his students is abundantly clear. He acknowledges and respects the inherent value and intellect of each student, which motivates students to meet the very clear and high expectations he maintains. Professor Yest’s leadership empowers students to achieve to make both themselves and him proud.
Academic, extracurricular or personal achievement you're most proud of: The academic and personal achievement of which I am most proud is my completion of two semesters of direct exchange at universities outside of the United States. During my junior year, I spent one semester at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Spain and one semester at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. These semesters were daunting, as I was separated from my Tulane peers, took courses in my second language, and adapted to new cultures. They were also the most exciting, fascinating, and enjoyable times of my life. I am very proud of the personal and academic growth I underwent while abroad and even more proud of my integration of that knowledge into my coursework since my return.
Top items on professional bucket list: One item on my professional bucket list is to work internationally. I hope to apply my cross-cultural study to an international career in which I connect and serve clients around the world. Another item on my professional bucket list is to be a mentor to young women in business. I owe so much to the women who have come before me and have generously provided me care, advice, and resources. I hope to do the same for generations of women to come.
Fun Fact: I am an Italian citizen!
