Connor Pellerin (MBA ’25)

Name: Connor Pellerin
Hometown: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Program: Online MBA
Post Graduation Plans: While completing the online MBA program, I have been working for a startup hydration beverage company called AGAME. My predominant role within the company is as a data analyst in the financial department, assisting with financial modeling and planning. Outside of this role, I manage relationships with various grocery stores within the Alabama market to set up promotions for our products.
Favorite Business Course: The Tulane Online MBA program had many different courses that I loved. However, two were the most applicable for me and my professional career. Advanced Spreadsheet Modeling, taught by Professor Osman Kazan, was a great class because I learned high-level Microsoft Excel skills that I can use for financial modeling and portfolio optimization. Another favorite class was Supply Chain and Operations Management, taught by Professor Ivan Lugovoi. This course taught us how to follow a company's operations, examine its supply chain, and present new ways to increase its efficiency.
Favorite Business Professor: My favorite Freeman professor was Professor Ashley Nelson. Professor Nelson taught two classes during my time in the online MBA program: Corporate Communications and Social Media and Online Marketing. With both classes, she was very personable and engaging, which made our Wednesday night roundtables extremely enjoyable.
Academic, extracurricular or personal achievement you're most proud of: One personal achievement during the program that I am most proud of would be my time management skills to balance playing professional baseball within the minor leagues and completing the online MBA program. When I entered the minor leagues, I always knew I wanted to complete my MBA, so the Online MBA program allowed me to continue school while playing baseball. At first, I was nervous about how I would manage the time between playing six games a week and completing my schoolwork. However, I developed a good routine to manage my workload effectively and was able to complete the program.
Most important thing you learned at Freeman: The most important thing I learned while at the Freeman Online MBA program is how to effectively communicate virtually. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual communication has changed how many businesses operate. Coordinating with classmates and professors virtually was a great tool that I learned that I could then take with me into my professional career.
Favorite New Orleans Memory: My favorite New Orleans memory would be the Super Bowl this past year. Although I am a Saints fan, I was able to attend the game and had an unforgettable experience.
