Eric Smith, professor of practice and associate director of the Tulane Energy Institute, was interviewed by Mergers & Acquisitions about the forces driving private equity into LNG infrastructure. 

“If there is less Permian oil then there will be less Permian gas,” says Eric Smith, associate director of the Tulane Energy Institute. “If crude is in a funk, then associated gas production declines. In contrast, there are dry-gas fields where gas production is on purpose. That favors long-term supply commitments. It’s a very different business model from associated gas.”
