Rob Lalka, Albert R. Lepage Professor in Business and professor of practice in management, was a guest on Computerworld's Today in Tech podcast, where he and host Keith Shaw discussed the rise in Big Tech executives seeking political power and influence.

"When Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are talking about firing everybody with an odd social security number who is a civil servant that works in government, I don't think that's a great business strategy and I don't know if that makes me feel great as someone who cares about public service and cares about our government functioning well ... I still believe in a meritocracy where people should be able to earn their way up into positions and not have those positions taken away because of some political purpose or ax to grind. I think these are the things we should all be paying attention to, because they've been very clear about what they're hoping to to accomplish."
