The Tulane University senior from Pearl River, Louisiana, maintained a 4.0 grade point average as a walk-on member of the Tulane football program, and was awarded a scholarship by head coach Willie Fritz ahead of his senior year.

C. Jackson "Jack" Grayson Jr., former dean of the A. B. Freeman School of Business, died on May 4 at his home in Houston. He was 93. Grayson was executive chairman of the American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC), an organization he founded in 1977 to spread the adoption of successful business practices and processes.
