On May 16, the A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University co-hosted the Latin American Business Forum, a daylong conference highlighting emerging business opportunities for U.S. firms in Latin America.
Instapath Bioptics

Tulane University-based startup Instapath Bioptics topped more than 5,000 entrants from around the world to win first place and the grand prize of $30,000 in the International Business Model Competition. CMDX Biopsy, another Tulane-based team, also made the finals of the competition.
Marshall Wadleigh

Marshall Wadleigh’s story of accomplishment is a testament that hard work breeds success. The Tulane University senior from Pearl River, Louisiana, maintained a 4.0 grade point average as a walk-on member of the Tulane football program, and was awarded a scholarship by head coach Willie Fritz ahead of his senior year.

C. Jackson "Jack" Grayson Jr., former dean of the A. B. Freeman School of Business, died on May 4 at his home in Houston. He was 93. Grayson was executive chairman of the American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC), an organization he founded in 1977 to spread the adoption of successful business practices and processes.

Zachary Engel (BSM ’10), chef de cuisine at Shaya Restaurant in New Orleans, won the James Beard Award for Rising Star Chef of the Year on Monday (May 1) at the Beard Foundation’s 2017 Awards Gala in Chicago.
